Brohl & Appell is supporting Rockwell Automation in the industrial automation market with a dedicated staff of product specialists. Our membership in Affiliated Distributors provides us with national service capabilities while retaining our local presence. Brohl & Appell has stayed in business for 120 years by evolving with our customers and supporting them with the appropriate products and services.

The most recent step in the evolution of Brohl & Appell brought us into the computer network services industry. Brohl & Appell purchased Province Data Link in August, 1998.

This acquisition provides us with a means to support our customers in yet another arena; the evolving technologies of office networking, web services and computer hardware and software. The Brohl & Appell Network Division staff certifications span a range including, Novell CNE, Microsoft MCP and MCSE.

Company History

Brohl & Appell, Inc., one of the oldest companies in Sandusky, Ohio was founded March 4, 1889 by Edward P. Brohl and Herman Appell. Brohl & Appell, Inc. has advanced greatly from that time when the business consisted mainly of installing of gas pipe and gas chandeliers. In the early years the company developed the plumbing and heating industry in and around Sandusky, this business evolved into the distribution business for which it is most well known today.

On October 1, 1935 Brohl & Appell, Inc. was awarded the Allen - Bradley franchise for the local APR. That was the beginning aspect of their distribution business, the first step into the technological revolution

In 1984 Brohl & Appell, Inc. opened its first satellite location at 541 Ternes Ave. in Elyria, Ohio. At this time the company was awarded the Allen Bradley franchise for Lorain County, another logical step in the evolution of Brohl & Appell, Inc.

On August 1, 1998 Brohl & Appell, Inc. purchased Province Data Link; now the Network Division of Brohl & Appell, a step in the company’s evolution that will enable us to expand on our abilities to provide quality technical solutions “from the shop floor to the top floor.” From a technical perspective, Brohl & Appell, has certified professionals on staff with credentials including: Novell Certification, Microsoft Certification, Rockwell Software Certification.
